  • Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the main state Ministry involved in higher education, science, research and technology. There are other public or private bodies/institutions with related functions including 'Ministry of Education’ which is responsible for schooling and tertiary education, the ‘Ministry of Health and Medical Education’, and other scientific and technological institutions affiliated with other state or private institutions in the country.

  • The goals of Vice Presidency for Science and Technology is to  Promote the national power, production of wealth and to improve the quality of people's life through increasing technological capabilities and innovation in the country. It also promotes the "national innovation system" and tries to complete the components and its chains. Developing "knowledge-based economy" through intersectional and intersystem coordination and synergy is one of other goals of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.   • Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) (http://en.irost.org/)

  • Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) was founded in 1980 in Islamic Republic of Iran shortly after the ratification of the IROST's Statute by the Council of Islamic Revolution with the aim of providing support to Iranian researchers, inventors and industrialists across the country. And later in 1991, the Council for Higher Education Development approved amendments to the IROST's Statute. IROST as one of the leading Iranian organizations for science and technology (S&T) mainly aims to devote itself to achieving independence in scientific and technological pursuit of the country by supporting and exploiting the potential offered by the Iranian inventors, innovators, researchers and industrialists and to respond to the increasing demands for S&T development programs. This organization provides valuable services in fulfilling the country's scientific, technical and engineering requirements through supporting applied and developmental research as well as developing new technologies by exploiting qualified experts and modern equipment and facilities.

  • NSF was founded in 2003 with the approval of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution. The need to support researchers and scientists has always been of prime importance to Iran policy makers. Long before INSF was established, Scientific Research Council led by the first Vice President had served to do so. For more than a decade, the INSF has taken meaningful actions to provide support to researchers and scientists.  Currently, the INSF works closely with more than 26,000 faculty members of universities and research institutes. The major activities of the INSF include supporting research projects, post-doctoral programs, international patent application, various research awards and innovation center development.  

  • National Research Institute for Science Policy (http://en.nrisp.ac.ir/)

  • National Center for Scientific Research was founded under a decree of the Revolutionary Council (on coordinating, centralizing and integrating national research centers and organizations of Iran and their budgets) in 1979. The approval of this decree was simultaneous with the Cultural Revolution and the closure of universities and higher education centers and the reflection of its related problems in the former Ministry of Culture and Higher Education at that time which prevented its activities.

  • Pardis Technology Park (PTP) as the region’s paradise of technology, under the auspices of Vice-Presidency for science and technology and a fourteen-entity Board of Trustees comprising of corporate and real bodies from ministries, science centers and academies, headed by the First Vice President, pursuing the goals of commercialization of the research results and, establishing sustainable ties between University and Industry, is located in a now 60 hectares area, in three phases, (expandable to 1000 hectares) at 20 km distance to the northeast vicinity of Tehran.

  • To incubate and promote start-ups which are established and managed by graduates, Sharif Advanced Technologies Incubator (SATI) was constituted in 2003. Until now, 150 start-ups have been admitted in this incubator and now 36 of these start-ups are using our facilities and services.

  • Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT), as a pioneering organization, is a combination of many Science Parks and Incubators in 520 ha of land, located next to the Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) in the North of Isfahan, IRAN. The town started its official operations in 2000, and includes Science Parks, Pre-incubator, and Incubators.
