Developing renewable energies with the hopes to cut down hydrocarbons and replace them with clean and renewable energy sources to increase energy security has been a priority for Iranian policy makers. It is because of Iran’s advantageous topography for renewables that fulfilling these objectives are realistic and probable for the government.
The attractiveness of Iran’s renewable energy potential has also been noticed by other countries. German, South Korean, Danish and Indian businesses began examining the sanctioned country’s renewable energy industry as a long-term investment opportunity. Iranian officials have reduced bureaucracy in the energy sector, streamlined its licensing process, and presented competitive incentives to renewable energy infrastructure developers and equipment suppliers for the purpose of attracting foreign investment. To this end, INIF is eager to engage in co-funding programs with international innovation Funds in other countries.
