Iran National Innovation Fund Supports Joint Production of Iranian and Iraqi Kurdistan TBFs

International Exhibition of Construction Industry, Real Estate and Building Investment in Erbil, which started with the presence of 24 Iranian technology-based firms (TBFs) on September 7, 2021 at International Exhibition Center in Erbil, ended on September 10.

Dr. Mostafa Baghdadi, INIF’s manager of ecosystem development referred to the holding of meetings between Iranian and Iraqi firms at Erbil exhibition on the first day and stated, “In this meeting, the Consul General of Iran and I explained the capabilities of Iranian TBFs”. He mentioned the visit of several large construction projects in Erbil as part of the plans for the second day of the presence of Iranian firms in Erbil International Exhibition Center and said, "On the sidelines of the exhibition, several large construction projects were visited and all Iranian firms attended the mass construction and development projects in Erbil.

During a joint specialized meeting, Mr. Baghdadi also announced the readiness of INIF to accept business delegations from Iraqi Kurdistan and to send business delegations from Iran to the region. Baghdadi said, “More communication is necessary between the two sides, so I informed the readiness of INIF to receive business delegations from Iraqi Kurdistan and also send a business delegation from Iran for more communication and familiarity with the capacities of the parties and transfer of knowledge and technology of Iranian firms”. He also said, “I hope today’s presence would lead to more joint production between the two sides”.

Baghdadi added, "Iranian firms also introduced their engineering products and technical capabilities and pointed out the existing problems for the development of cooperation in the Iraqi Kurdistan market. The Consul General of Iran also announced his readiness to facilitate these communications.

In the continuation of this event, contractors of the Iraqi Kurdistan, while introducing their projects and needs, expressed their desire to develop cooperation”.
