South Africa Joint Cooperation with Iran in Fields of Engineering and Industry
Ambassador of South Africa in Tehran announced his readiness to exchange experience and joint cooperation with Iran in fields of engineering and industry.
Wikamazuri Kumalo in a meeting titled "Iran Innovation Eco-System and the Role of INIF" stated about innovative activities of South Africa, Some of our country activities in related fields are similar to those of Iran". National Research Foundation of South Africa is one of institutions working on innovation aimed at creating a knowledge-based economy in the country. As well, this Foundation operates under supervision of ministry of technology.
South African ambassador added: In our country, innovation centers are scattered across the country, Iran may not be aware of economic structure in South Africa, but our economy is most industrialized economy in Africa, as well as our country in terms of providing financial services are more advanced both in African continent and all other countries in whole world.
He said, "Engineering and industry are fields that we are fully focused on them. He also stated: In order to grow toward an industrial revolution and a real transformation, it is necessary for our economy to not be based on agriculture and services."
At the end of this meeting, South Africa's ambassador stated, “INIF is active in fields of engineering and industry. In South Africa we are working on latest industry such as artificial intelligence. On the other hand, South Africa may need cooperation with Iran in order to exchange experience and joint collaboration in fields of engineering and industry.
